AMPO POYAM VALVES designs and manufactures highly engineered Double Expanding Through Conduit Gate valves, which are considered critical valves due to its operation in the most severe environments of topside platforms, riser platforms, FPSOs, refinery pipelines and tank pipelines. Double Block and Bleed (Twin ball) valves are commonly used for those applications, but AMPO’s Engineering team worked intensively in order to develop a more reliable and competitive solution for these services, reducing the weight as well as reducing the space needed for the equipment in the plant. Our deep knowledge on valve engineering has made us develop the most cutting edge Through Conduit Gate Valve on the market, whose main advantages are: bi-directionality, Double Block and Bleed (DBB), Double Isolation Bleed (DIB-1), AMPO special seat design for positive sealing, External pressure relief, an Expanding gate with tungsten carbide coated metal seats and finally, a key distinguishing aspect; CAM design >=6” for positive sealing in opened & closed positions.

 

Double expanding means that gate valves are expanded onto the seats in both closed and fully opened positions. In the opened position, seals the body cavity from the pipe, and it provides protection for the seat faces in dirty services. Moreover, it is considered a positive sealing type where the seat load is applied mechanically to both upstream and downstream seats simultaneously.
