AMPO POYAM VALVES is currently supplying more than 4,000 slurry angle severe service valves for the expansion project of Lanjigarh Alumina Refinery from existing capacity of 2 MTPA to 5 MTPA in Lanjigarh, Odisha, India. The completion of this project will place Lanjigarh Alumina Refinery, owned by Vedanta, as one of the world’s largest single-location alumina refinery complex.
Vedanta Aluminium Limited have relied on AMPO POYAM VALVES for the design and manufacture of more than 4,000 slurry angle valves for isolation purposes in different severe service units of the alumina refinery, such as: bauxite, evaporation, RMPH, causticisation, digestion, security and fine seed filtration, etc.
AMPO POYAM VALVES’s expertise and know-how have allowed developing optimum solutions in terms of materials, design and valve performance, considering the heavy slurry service at the refinery.
All those valves are being manufactured in AMPO INDIA, which comprises an area of approximately 15,000 square meters in Coimbatore (Tamil Nadu), India and which includes valve assembly, testing, painting and packing facilities. Here, AMPO INDIA is able to manufacture up to 72” size valves.
AMPO POYAM VALVES has been supplying custom-made special valves to Alumina refineries since 1978 and it is currently considered a world leader in slurry angle valves. Its wide reference list in this market and the excellent performance of their alumina valves has enabled AMPO to strengthen its collaboration with Vedanta in India.
