Currently thousands and thousands of AMPO POYAM valves are installed in worldwide liquefaction terminals and ARCTIC LNG 2 project will not be an exception. AMPO POYAM VALVES has completed the design and is in progress of manufacturing more than 20,000 highly engineered manual and actuated ball, gate, globe, swing check and critical non-slam axial check valves for ARCTIC LNG 2 project, an onshore LNG liquefaction plant located in the Gydan Peninsula, West Siberia, approximately 70 km across the Ob Bay from Yamal LNG. The valves’ sizes will range from 2” to 48” and the pressure range will vary from 150 lbs to 2500 lbs.
GYGAZ SNC, a joint venture formed by Technip and Saipem, was awarded the EPC contract for the development of this liquefaction terminal in Russia. This EPC project comprises the detailed design, procurement, fabrication, construction, commissioning and start-up of three LNG trains, each with a capacity of approximately 6.6 million tons per year (mtpa), which will be placed on three gravity-based structures (GBS).
SAREN, the company established jointly by RHI and Saipem with a 50%-50% partnership, was selected to carry out the manufacturing, transport, and assembly works for the three components of the Gravity Base Structure (GBS) of the Arctic LNG 2 Terminal Project. These structures are considered an innovative construction concept and the proximity to Yamal LNG, will allow Arctic LNG 2 to leverage synergies with existing infrastructure and logistics facilities.
Novatek, the largest independent natural gas producer in Russia, has a 60% interest in Arctic LNG 2, alongside Total (10%), CNOOC (10%), CNPC (10%) and Japan Arctic LNG (10%).
Both EPC contractors, GYGAZ SNC and SAREN, as well as the before mentioned operators, have trusted on AMPO POYAM VALVES for the design and manufacture of more than 20,000 manual and actuated ball, gate, globe and check valves in both cryogenic and non cryogenic services for this innovative project in Russia. Special mention must be made of the highly engineered non slam critical check valves, requiring a very precise performance in huge valves up to 48” in size and 900# pressure class.
Thanks to the outstanding performance in the project execution of Key Vendors such as AMPO POYAM VALVES, with on-time deliveries and accelerated options to follow the project urgencies, Arctic LNG 2 Project remains on schedule despite impact of Covid-19 with a planned commissioning date by the end of 2022.
AMPO POYAM VALVES is taking advantage of dual manufacturing capacity combining Spanish and Indian workforces to manufacture this huge supply of more than 20,000 valves.
It has been our experience of more than 40 years in the LNG market which has made GYGAZ SNC, SAREN and the diverse operators to rely on AMPO POYAM VALVES for such critical contract. This project reaffirms AMPO POYAM VALVES’ strategic decision to consolidate its leadership across the entire natural gas value chain.
